Vintage Afternoon Tea
A Traditional Afternoon Tea has become increasingly popular over the past year, perfect for a summer wedding in an English garden setting beautifully presented and served on crisp white or vintage crockery.
Our Afternoon Tea Menu includes includes a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with West Country clotted cream and strawberry jam and variety of miniature homemade cakes and pastries served with your choice from a range of teas
The classic selection of sandwiches and pastries served for Afternoon Tea includes:
- Local Ham with Grain Mustard Mayonnaise on White Bread
- West Country Cheddar Cheese Sandwich with Chutney
- Cucumber Sandwich with Crème Fraiche, Dill, and Chives
- Smoked Salmon with Lemon Butter on Wholegrain Bread
- Egg Mayonnaise Sandwich with Cress
- Freshly Baked Raisin and Plain Scones with West Country Clotted Cream and Strawberry Preserve
- Assortment of Miniature Afternoon Tea Pastries and Cakes including Banoffee Pie, Chocolate Tart, Chocolate Éclairs Cream Horn, Lemon Meringue Pie, Fresh Fruit Tart.
The range of teas on offer will include the following:
Assam – A strong full-bodied tea from India, which has a distinctive, ‘malty’ flavour.
Darjeeling – An aromatic and astringent tea from India, with a hint of almonds and wildflowers.
Earl Grey – A blend of black teas scented with oil of bergamot named after Charles, 2nd Earl Grey, who was Prime Minister from 1830 to 1834.
Lapsang Souchong – A Chinese tea fired over smoking pine needles, which produces a striking smoky odour and flavour.
English Afternoon Tea – A medium-based blend of Keemun and Ceylon black teas and has a medium flavour strength.
This looks stunning when served on vintage crockery decorated with soft lace tablecloths and a selection of English summer flowers and vintage bunting in pink and blue pastels.
